The issue:
This procedure applies to the following error message:
Clicking “OK” results in changes in Word not writing to the CoPath database (i.e. lost work), and CoPath closes itself out immediately.
The fix:
This method is for the local (fat) client installs on the computers. We are working on a thin client version.
- When you get the above error message in CoPath do not click “OK” or elsewhere in CoPath. Leave all the windows open.
- There is a new folder shortcut on your desktop called “Case Recovery”. Open this folder.
- When you open the folder there will be multiple folders starting with “ucs” then numbers.
- Open the most recently modified folder.
- Copy and paste the full folder or just the Word document to your desktop. Then click “OK” in the error dialog box and allow CoPath to close.
- Reopen the case in CoPath. Open the recovered document as well. Copy the report content from the recovered document back into the CoPath document. Save the CoPath document.
If the desktop you are at does not have the Case Recovery folder, please e-mail the IT Team or if you would like assistance with this process.
